National History Kappa Delta Sorority was founded nationally on October 23, 1897. We were founded at the State Female Normal School (now called Longwoood University) in Farmville, Virginia. We were founded by four beautiful ladies, they are: Lenora Ashmore Blackiston, Mary Sommerville Sparks Hendrick, Sara Turner White, and Julia Gardiner Tyler Wilson.
